BEACHES OF KEPHALONIA

The island of Kephalonia has a long lacelike shoreline, mainly rocky, with picturesque little bays. Many of them are accessed only by sea. At the south of the island we meet long and shallow sandy beaches. Here are based the most tourist developed resorts of Kephalonia, with excellent services and amenities.

South coast: From Argostoli to Skala

The area is the tourist heart of the island. Here we find the most and biggest organized beaches. Among them the following stand out:
Paliostafida beach and Makrys Yalos beach, next to Argostoli.
Αmmes beach and Αvithos beach, next to the airport.
The popular and cosmopolitan Lourdas beach and, a bit further, the secluded Koroni beach.
The picturesque Κatelios beach and the peaceful Κaminia beach, next to Skala.
Finally, the cosmopolitan Skala beach.

West coast: From Skala to Ayia Efthimia

Here the coast is mainly rocky and the beaches fewer and smaller, but fine. The popular Antissamos beach, next to Sami harbour, stands out for its scenic beauty.

North coast: Erissos peninsula

This north peninsula has a very rocky coastline, with few, tiny, but excellent beaches. Unspoiled nature and crystal clear waters offer a dreamy experience to the visitor. Among the beaches of the area the following stand out:
Horgota beach, 7Km from Komitata village, and, next to it, Ayia Sofia beach are little hidden paradises.
Foki beach and Εmblissi beach, next to picturesque Fiskardo village, are beautiful scenic green bosoms.
Κimila beach and Dafnoudi beach, at the northmost end of the island, are romantic refuges for the seals and for the lovers of pure nature.
Αlaties beach and Αyia Ierussalim beach, at the west cost of the peninsula, are also peaceful and remote.

West coast: Myrtos gulf

Here Myrtos beach, one of the top beaches of the Mediterranean, stands out. Giant white cliffs, bright white sand and turquoise waters compose a dreamy exotic scenery.

Further south of Myrtos there is a series of other excellent beaches. Ayia Kyriaki beach and Vouti beach are most easily accessed. Yet, for the exotic Fteri beach one will have to use a boat.

Southwest coast: Palliki peninsula

Long, calm, sandy beaches at the East, and rocky cliffs at the West, defines the typical Ionian landscape. Among the beaches of the area are Ksi beach and Megalos Lakkos beach, that run continuously along the shoreline and stand out for their unique red sand. Very organized and family friendly beaches.

For those who love the peaceful and scenic natural setting, Langadakia beach and Petani beach are the ideal destinations.
