We welcome you to "Meltemi," a restaurant with a tradition of local cuisine prepared with the finest, freshest local ingredients. Meltemi's consistent quality has earned it an enviable reputation in the gastronomic history of our island. In the 1970's we began our journey, exploring the wealth of our island's flavors. Our original and innovative use of the abundant local products of Naxos, our desire for high quality, and our genuine love of good food have inspired us and led us to our current place among the island's most beloved dining establishments.
At our restaurant one can enjoy local specialties such as the "Kalogiros" (eggplant stuffed with veal, Naxos' gruyere and béchamel sauce), the grilled stuffed fresh calamari, fresh swordfish and plenty of fresh fish and seafood. Our extensive menu of authentic Greek cuisine also includes carefully chosen meats grilled (with a large choice of sauces), traditional Greek dishes (lamp in lemon-oregano sauce, veal stifado, exochiko, mousaka etc), vegetarian dishes (stuffed tomatoes, eggplants ragou, chikpeas in the oven, briam etc), a variety of local cheeses, and Naxos' wines and raki.
*Please note: We focus strongly on the use of raw products that have been cultivated and raised in the traditional way of our island. All of the olive oil, wine and raki served in our restaurant come from our own farm in Sangri on Naxos. Seasonal fruits and vegetables also come from our own farm.
