The idea of the proprietor, Mrs Kalliopi Chatzigianni to create "ABELOS" VILLA is based on the necessity for ameliorating standardized tourist services. Thus, "ABELOS" VILLA was constructed on an estate that lies in the village Roustika, a traditional, historical village, one of the most beautiful in Crete, where edifices from the Venetian era are still preserved. "ABELOS" is situated at an altitude of 300 metres from sea level, in the middle of the prefecture of Rethymnon. The advantage of this location is that there is easy access both to the north axis of the island, where the towns Rethymnon (at an 20-kilometer distance), Heraklion and Chania lie, and to the southern axis (Libyan Sea) with the superb, wind-protected beaches of Plakias, Moni Preveli, Damnoni, Ammoudi etc. at a distance of 15 kilometre from the area.
