“Rodos Niohori Elite Suites” boutique hotel was originally a traditional home built in 1896. The mansion was beautifully renovated into luxury suites in 2011, but the home’s original grandeur, mosaic floors, and architecture were retained.
Many of the home’s original features have been preserved and artfully incorporated into the Suites, making each room a unique experience. One suite incorporates the old stone fireplace where the staff of the aristocratic family used to cook. Another suite has the original staircase made of beautiful, gnarled wood. If you are at the reception desk, look at the floor to see the original handmade tiles. Above the reception desk you will find the beautiful tiled artwork of the famous Ikaros potter. More of his work is displayed throughout the building and into the courtyard, where breakfast is served every morning.
In addition, throughout the hotel you will find the very special “chochlakia” on the floor. These are floors consisting of small black and white pebbles, handpicked from the beach and laid on the floors into the decorative designs by bygone craftsmen.
