Dated back in 1859, The Windmill of Karamitsos was initially built in 1859 for the grinding of wheat. Later, in 1985 it was bought by Karamitsos family, who converted the windmill to comfortable guestrooms. In 2010, renovations took place transforming the place in an utterly rustic property with wood and stone being the primary decoration elements.
Across the self-catering Windmill of Karamitsos there is a small structure housing a fully equipped kitchen, a seating area with a fireplace for the wintertime guests and a bathroom. Guests can relax in the built-in sofas and the armchairs of the well-attended garden where a millstone is used as a decorative detail.
The windmill is separated in three levels. On the ground floor guests will find a seating area and a WC. The second floor includes a bedroom with a double wrought iron bed and the third another bedroom with a double wooden bed. The upper floors are accessible by an internal staircase made of stone.
Upon arrival guests are offered water, juice, fruit, coffee and wine in the kitchen!
The bedrooms, modern amenities and pleasant outdoor areas make The Windmill of Karamitsos ideal for families or groups of friends. Should you seek a unique holiday experience savoring the local character of a place with an amazing unobstructed view of the deep blue Aegean Sea, this traditional windmill is definitely the perfect choice for you!
